Dr. Seuss! In honor of which, today is Read-Across-America day (seems awfully restrictive to me). Go read a book! (Like I need to tell this crowd that.)

Eli is reading a story for Read-Across-America today. He was concerned he might get left out of the celebratory cake-eating. I assured him he wouldn't.

How cute! I hadn't thought of cake-eating. Hmmm . . . I'm taking my son out for dinner at Fuddruckers. Does that count?

He's just getting to the point where he can read Hop on Pop by himself, though he still prefers to have someone else take over about halfway through.

Hmm, I might have to do a read of Fox in Socks for old time's sake. I have a particular talent for reading it fast and flawless. And I always imagine how wonderful it would sound with Michael Richards reading the part of the Fox, and Jason Alexander as Mr. Knox.

I like having a birthday on World Book Day :) But I don't think my mother planned it that way.

We have Hop on Pop memorized. Something to do with a three-hour bus ride with a three-year-old Steven...
