My words in indexes created (also for publication of a sort, but not generally credited, counted because bonniers told me I should): 125,318

For the record, the really large index, which accounts for 95k of the above? Still nowhere near done.

Grand total for 2008: 226,007

Heh. All that, and I still didn't break a quarter of a million words. :-P

Actually, not that many indexes--just a whole heap of words in one, plus a couple small ones.

I said to count the index because it's hard to judge progress properly if you don't have accurate data on which to base the judgment. Nonfiction is a lot harder to count than fiction, especially when one is working for hire. But it's real work nevertheless.

It's definitely real work. I could almost have finished two of my unfinished novels with that many words. :-P
