As is probably clear to those whose LJs I've wandered through, dropping casual comments, I'm back and spending time on-line rather than completely wrapped up in watching the newborn sleep. You'd think I'd been through this before or something. ;-)
Not that the second is identical to the first, of course. The first had no jaundice and by the first post-hospital check-up was already up over initial birth weight. The second is jaundiced (though I think it's getting better) and lost a couple more ounces between when we left the hospital and the first check-up yesterday.
8 pounds, 13 ounces at birth; 19-1/2 inches long. (Yesterday: 8 pounds, 1 ounce; 20-1/2 inches. Doctor doesn't think length measurement in hospital was accurate.)
She's also spending a lot more time alert than I remember being normal for newborns. And What to Expect in the First Year says maybe an hour total per day of socialization time, a few minutes per hour. She's definitely way beyond that.
So, yes . . . happy, healthy, and home.
Thanks for all the well wishes!
