Husband thought it would be good to take six-year-old out for a bit while I'm pushing to meet some deadlines. Very nice.
However, they went to see WALL-E, a movie we've been talking about going to see when it came out . . . well, for months.
So suddenly his kind gesture feels like punishment. "We're going to go do something fun while you stay home with the teething baby and WORK. You don't get to come."
I know he doesn't mean it that way, but it still sucks.

Date: 2008-06-30 12:49 pm (UTC)I used to compound matters by feeling so hurt and upset I didn't get any work done (postpartum depression being my only excuse), which was a low-blow kind of way of rejecting Neil's kindness. Passive aggression, anyone?
But that was just me. Of course you wouldn't do anything like that.
