debating on the wall paint

Okay, so some of you know that we're redoing our living/dining/hall area this summer.



We have one accent wall, and we decided to paint it in block shapes:






The original plan was to do a nice frottage faux finish (the darker color being where the blocks are currently painted with the orange spice):



Then we thought maybe we'd do just a solid color instead of the frottage on white:





But maybe it's too dark?

Have to make a decision today. Eep!

The yellow's nice but I think I like the frottage better. Or maybe some of each?

We went with frottage on the orange, then a lighter yellow (solid) for the other blocks.

Okay, I'm weird, but I like the orange blocks and blue lines on white. :)

Well, yes, you're weird. You're on my friends' list, right?

But I like the lines, too. I told the husband initially that perhaps we should just do those. But, the blue being painters' tape, it has come down.

This is one of my favourite icons, but I can't trace its originator.

You should replace the painter's tape with painted blue lines, and enter it for the Turner Prize! :)

Huh? I thought you were going to paint in the real blue afterwards!

Really. It has a nice effect. I agree with just about everybody else that it makes the whole setup look cuter.
