lessons in aging gracefully
Jun. 11th, 2007 09:42 pmOr not.
The other day, I was grocery shopping, and the store was playing the song that we used as our high school graduation theme. Worse, I don't think I've heard it between that time and this, but I knew every word. The song? "We Are the World" (Yeah, us and 90% of the other graduating classes in the nation that year. Pop quiz: what year?)

In other news related to my high school years and all the recent movies being made of them, I note that there will be a Smurfs movie (first in a planned trilogy). Now last week, the kid saw a plush Smurf and a plush Papa Smurf in my office closet and asked to have them to play with. Okay, fine.
The husband comes in. "Why does the kid have a pair of Smurfs?"
"Because they were in my closet."
"Why were they in your closet?"
"Because I've had them since high school."
Long, strange look. Ah, well. Not the last time I'll get one of those from him.
