Third place!

My short story, "Moon Mad," took third place in the PARSEC Short Story Contest. Just got the mail, and I'm too giddy to concentrate at the moment, though I have much paying work to do. I'll admit to embarrassment at some of the things pointed out in the feedback. (However, the use of general fantasy tropes rather than a new world was a deliberate choice to showcase the appearance of the madness. Clearly, it didn't work as well as I'd hoped, but I have no regrets for the choice.)

Still, very, very happy right now!

Thanks. Not that this has made the mantra of "not good enough" go away, of course. But now it's more of an "I can almost see there from here" feeling.

Exciting's good. Well, sometimes. Unless it's bad. And sometimes, it's just . . . Me? Rambling? Oh, maybe a touch. ;-) And New Orleans? That sounds so cool! (And I keep meaning to steal an icon or two and rotate them into my collection. Haven't yet, but I love the stars one and the horse/fire one both.)
