NaNo 2006 . . . are you ready?

I have two, very different, ideas for this year. One's SF; one's a murder mystery (a sequel of sorts to my 2004 NaNo). I may not decide until November 1. I may try to do both. I have no idea what insanity this November holds, but it's going to be lots of fun.

As much as I would love to see my manuscript finshed by the end of November, there's no way I can write that much while working a full time job with a (then) 11 month old baby... Especially if he doesn't stop waking up every night from 2:30 - 4!!!!

Ahem. Sorry. Very tired... :)

So no NaNo for me, just the normal weekends and nights when I'm already awake. :) Oh and evenings when I'm out of town on business (new project = 1 week of travel a month). I hate leaving my wife alone with the baby, but I'm going to use the quiet hotel room to my advantage...

I understand. I've a 5-year-old who's home half days. I run my own business. Life. Gotta love it.

So how's the baby doing, anyway? And, yeah--if you devoted that much time to writing in one month with an 11-month-old at home, your wife would be well within her rights to strangle you. ;-)

Mine will be a romance, though I had toyed with the idea of a more traditional fantasy. Maybe next year...

NaNo shows up every year; you have time to get to the fantasy. And happily-ever-afters are good, no matter the genre.

I know, but I'd been thinking about the fantasy as my NaNo novel for nearly 10 months now. And then the romance came along and told me I was WAAAY wrong. =)
